Can I Ship My Vehicle If It Does Not Run?

09/28/2010

As long as your vehicle has four wheels, rolls and steers, it can be shipped by an auto transport company. However, make sure you inform your auto transport company that your vehicle is inoperable or non-running when you get quotes. They will need to send a truck that has the necessary equipment, such as a winch, for loading inoperable vehicles.

Due to the additional labor and equipment required for shipping an inoperable vehicle, there may be an additional charge. So, if you are planning to fix the vehicle, it often makes sense to get it operational before shipping it, since it reduces the cost of shipping.
